Mihajlovic has given a long interview to La Gazetta dello Sport. He's talked about the new arriving players: "Sirigu has experience, qualities and a will to turn back before the World Cup. Lyanko and Bonifazi are two young central defenders who we can expect a lot for the future. The club knows everything well and I trust Cairo and Petrachi's work. Anyway, it's not a secret we're looking after another experienced central defender to help our youngsters grow. A couple investments for the midfield, offensive wingers and a substitute to Belotti. I hope he stays and that's Cairo's will too, he doesn't think about selling him. Then there's a €100m release clause. If anyone pays it there's a great amount of money coming but we would need to change our playing style because if you only think about getting a replacement for Belotti, it's worst: it's hard finding someone who pulls up his teammates and scores 26 goals. What I've always said and what Vieri also told La Gazzetta: keep your head up, make sacrifices, improve, don't lose your grinta and generosity that make Andrea a player from another time... A player like Vieri, it's right".
Mihajlovic then admits there are interested teams: "Mercato has only touched me a little bit as I have a contract with Toro and I'm great here. I've got a strong bound to the president but I have to say I enjoyed the interest from a great Italian club, an English club's offer and a million offer from China . I'd like to coach abroad, sooner or later...". Was the Italian club Inter? (smiles) "Inter has asked me but I can't remember whether it was when I trained Fiorentina, my second year at Sampdoria or after Milan or two months ago... Inter has built the duo Sabatini Spalletti back and they gave a great sportive director with Ausilio. Strong players will arrive being added up to an already strong team. With 3-4 investments, they'll play for the Scudetto".
Roma without Totti? "It makes me feel something. He's been the strongest Italian player in the last 30-40 years, maybe all-time. In my opinion he could have played one more year, but it wouldn't have changed his extraordinary career. I have to say I would have liked to be is last coach. I've thought about Totti for Torino, from the beginning of a game, at the middle of it or at the end, I would always enjoy having the possibility to play him. I don't think he could ever wear another shirt than Roma's but if he would like to... France', you've got my number".
A comment about Donnarumma: "I don't know the terms of the operation. I only say that Gigio is very strong but he's only a boy and he has to improve in order to become a champion. Doing it in the club where you've grown and where people love you would help him. This operation has been going on for too much time though. He's found himself against half of Italy being 18 years old. He's not been the only one at Euro. Raiola isn't Mother Theresa of Calcutta though, even if he knows his job well. It depends on the offer on the table. If Real Madrid, Barcelona or a top mondial club offers you the double or the double than what Milan offers, why should Gigio say no?"
