Leo Messi spoke in an exclusive interview with Mundo Deportivo and touched on a variety of topics. From his goals with Barcelona, to Napoli and the possibility of seeing Lautaro Martinez in blaugrana, below are his comments:
"I have already said many times that my idea is to remain at Barcelona as long as the club and fans continue to want me. There is a winning project, where you compete for every trophy, I'd like to win another Champions and league trophies here. I always had the freedom to decide if I remain or not, other than with the clause. Many clubs were interested and prepared to pay, but I repeat: I never thought about leaving. The years pass, but I feel very well, better than previous years. I am not reaching my goals, but athletically I am well. Playing until I am 40? We'll see."
"A long time ago I wanted to go to San Paolo but there was never the chance. I am very enthused to see how it'll be, even if it was renewed. The experience to play there will be great. I know the excitement the napoletani have for football, many teammates played there like Lavezzi."
"Lautaro looks a lot like Suarez: the use their body well, defend the ball, and kick in similar ways. He showed to be trustworthy with the national team. By now, Luis has a lot of experience, he could help Lautaro adapt to the club and La Liga, but they're all hypotheses."
