Maradona:”I’m very sorry that Italy will be out of the World Cup”

Italy’s elimination from the World Cup has left many in shock, including a former protagonist in Serie A like Diego Armando Maradona. The former Napoli number 10 had this to say about the Azzurri’s elimination in the playoffs:”I’m very sad that Italy will be out of the World Cup. Italians have always brought some color to the World Cup. I watched the match and it seems to me Italy played the way Sweden wanted them to, by going through the middle, and they have two huge central defenders. The competition continues to get tougher, it’s sad that Italy, one of the historic national teams will be left out of the World Cup in Russia”
