Diego Armando Maradona spoke to Sky Sport about Napoli at the Globe Soccer Awards: “The ability to dream is something that no one can take from you. For the moment, I think Napoli and Juventus are on the same level. When certain injured players return, Napoli can improve further. Champions League? I would like for the match against Real Madrid to be played today, because Ronaldo is not in great form. Unfortunately, Napoli drew a strong team in Real Madrid, and I am disappointed because they will find a great adversary.”

Napoli is currently benefiting from a stellar Dries Mertens, author of four goals against Torino. “I saw it (Mertens’ chip goal). We must ask him if it was a shot or cross. In my opinion it was a cross. It was an amazing goal, but we must say the truth. I do not want to create controversy; he played a great game in a role that he is not used to.”

In conclusion, he spoke about Higuain’s transfer to Juventus: “Higuain’s last season was miraculous; he scored 36 goals. De Laurentiis is willing to sell his wife; he saw that Juventus needed a center forward, and gave him to them. However, everyone in their heart must choose between Napoli and Juventus. I chose Napoli, and Higuain chose Juventus. The times have changed; players were once attached more to a club as opposed to money.”
