Roberto Mancini has sent a clear and precise warning message: "Are there less Italians on the pitch? This is effectively a problem. I always wish that more Italians are able to play, those today that sit on the bench are talented and can improve, but they need to play."
Speaking to Radio Deejay, the Italian CT also added: "Confidence in the national team? Nobody believes in us, that's the most beautiful thing. I think that the youngest players need to play; if they only play a little, it becomes a problem. I believe that there are players with enormous quality. In this moment there isn't a player like Baggio or Totti, but there are interesting players that can emerge."
Mancini then spoke about a few individual players: "Balotelli could have gone to Marseille, for him it's important to play. Verratti? His problem today is that he is injured, I hope that he's able to make a quick recovery. Jorginho is among the best midfielders in Europe, his experience at Chelsea will help him improve even more," concluded the Italian CT.
