Mancini on coaching Italy: "It would be a source of pride for me"

Italian football federation is still on the lookout for a new national team coach that could help the Azzurri bounce back after the painful elimination from the World Cup. Among the candidates for the job, there's also Russian side Zenit St. Peterburg coach Roberto Mancini, who commented the rumors in an interview with the radio show "La Politica nel Pallone" on Gr Parlamento: "Personally, I've never talked to the Federation, but coaching the national team would be a source of pride for me because Italy is one of the most important teams in the world. Should I ever get the chance to coach Italy, it would be a good thing for me, but right now there's nothing. Italy don't have the top players they used to have, but they still have good players. Patience and working on the youth system is what we need, if we want to have a good national team in the future", Mancini said.
