Manchester United ended the January window by first welcoming Bruno Fernandes and then defeating Tottenham in the race for Odion Ighalo, the central striker born in '89 who currently plays at Shanghai Shenhua.
Ighalo will join the Red Devils on loan with option to buy. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, this was a complicated negotiation since Shanghai at first requested a significant sum for the option, so in order to complete the deal by the deadline, the clubs agreed to a dry loan, they will then discuss the future terms of option to buy in the next few days.
Spurs were also intersted but Ighalo preferred to join Manchester United because of the club's history and because he has always been a fan of theirs.
