With the signature match against Manchester United this evening, there has been a lot of attention on Milan's resurgence this season. One of the main architects of the turnaround, Paolo Maldini, discussed numerous topics in a recent interview with So Foot, starting with Zlatan Ibrahimovic:"The reality is Milan is above any player. Players come and go, the club remains. There are however some that leave a different mark, Zlatan is one of them. He is a motivator and a personality that can seem hard to manage, but for those who know how to get most of him, he is a great resource"
Maldini was asked what is different about this current Milan:"What makes a club great is the stability of the directors and the team. That is what was missing in the last years of Berlusconi's presidency and during the Chinese ownership. You must always have a plan, if you don't forecast the future, it's hard to obtain results. My return? It wasn't an obligation, but for me Milan is passion and I wanted to live it with this role"
