Milan director Paolo Maldini gave his thoughts to Sky Sport about the acquisiton of Sandro Tonali and more. Maldini spoke about the process to land the midfielder: “Sandro is 20 years old and is living his dream thanks to his own determination, and the work of his agents. Cellino was a very honorable person, thanks also to our owners who diverted course. I spoke with the player two months back and told him it would be hard to get him here. Our hope was to bring him to Milan, and we didn't let the dream die. We came to the point where everything lined up and we were able to bring him to Milan."
"With the ownership there are group objectives, at times there are discordant ideas, but with a through line we share things are very natural. The results we achieved post lockdown are clear and come from the plan that begun last year. I am sad that Boban is not still here, he is a close friend, without him we are weaker but we are trying to get to a mutual idea."
“The tie with Shamrock gives us fear, it's a team that has done well in the league, and we have several problems with Rebic suspended and Leao injured. We are playing away from home in a one-off match, we are duly worried."
“Chiesa is one of the best young Italians, there has never been a negotiation with Fiorentina for him, that is how things still stand today."
