Despite not having the time to leave a durable mark in Italy at Inter, Liverpool's winger Xherdan Shaqiri has still fond memories of his time with the Nerazzurri. The Swiss international talked about his six months in Italy in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport: "They were tough months because of the bad results, but it was a positive experience all things considered. Milan is a wonderful city, I could never say bad things about Inter and Italy. I still remember how the fans welcomed me at the airport. It was a moment that I will never forget. I joined Inter at the wrong time. Now the club is different, the whole Serie A is, the level of the league is higher now".
Shaqiri could get a glimpse of Italy again in the Champions League, as the draw matched up Liverpool with Napoli: "They have a great coach and a very good squad, they are doing very well after a bit of struggle in the first game of the group. They have been playing together for years, but they always get better. They play good football and they have strong players, but so do we. We are confident we can do it. Insigne? He is amazing, the season he is playing speaks for itself. We have some things in common but he is right footed, while I am left-footed. One thing is for sure, we have our height in common!", concluded the Swiss.
