Lucas is seen as an important squad member, but after almost ten years at the club, Jürgen Klopp may allow the Brazilian to leave in order to play more football, having made just three starts in the Premier League this season.
Inter Milan want to take Lucas on loan with a view to a permanent move in the summer. The midfielder who has also played at centre back under Klopp, and would give tactical flexibility to Inter who could move Gary Medel to the defense full time.
Joe Gomez is close to full fitness, and that may be a key factor in Klopp's decision on whether to allow Lucas to leave. Joël Matip has had an injury-ravaged season, and with Mamadou Sakho no longer considered part of the first team squad, allowing Lucas to depart would leave Liverpool light at centre back.
