A world champion with Italy and winning days on prestigious Italian clubs past. The present, on the other hand, is about China even if it shouldn't last too long. It doesn't change a lot for Marcello Lippi, wether he's in Asia or in Italy, his attention goes to Serie A. Interviewed by Radio Rai 1 for Radio Anch'io Sport, the former Azzurri coach has talked about Juve, Ancelotti, Marotta's farewell and his experience in China:
"The feeling is that the Scudetto race is already over. Inter, Milan and others will get better. The biggest opposition is between Juventus and Napoli though, and despite Ancelotti's experience, the Bianconeri still are too good. Marotta's goodbye? The big groups take these decisions in their best moments, we can't do anything else than acknowledge it, there's nothing to analyze".
"Is this team stronger than mine? I don't know, but without a doubt the one I coached and today's are among the best ever. I wouldn't have expected Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid. He got at a new team's disposal, and even if he earns a lot and has a certain lifestyle, I think he's a really humble boy and his impact is evident".
"Tomorrow, in Champions League, Ancelotti will have to create something incredible to shut Liverpool down, as they're among the best in Europe so in the world. I don't think Roma and Juventus will have big troubles, while Inter will have to pay attention to PSV's interesting youngsters".
"Gervinho? The Chinese league isn't one where you train that much, it's crazy he got back in Italy in that shape. I suppose he was really willing to come back in Italy, a lot of players his age, around 30, are only thinking about getting money and go to the Orient".
"China and me? My contract expires on the 31 of January 2019, at the end of Asian Cup. I don't know what will happen after that, but I want to go back home and I think this will be my last experience. Our national team is in good hands, Mancini is really good and there are a lot of young players who play as starters in Serie A. There are not that many but are in good shape, there were moments the U21 had to go looking in Serie C, otherwise they wouldn't find any starters".
