Lazio set to close deal for Eibar midfielder Escalante, he will arrive in June

Lazio are moving forward with a transfer move for Gonzalo Escalante from Eibar, the Argentina midfielder who holds an Italian passport will arrive on a Bosman trasnfer during the summer window. The sides accelerated talks in the last few hours, as Escalante was left out of the squad for the Saturday match against Valencia, having missed only two matches previously, possibly due to rumors of his transfer. In 2014-15 Escalante played with Catania in Serie B, a season where the club was subjected to relegated. During his five year stint at Eibar, he appeared in 150 matches scoring 10 goals and recording 8 assists, while serving as captain for the Basque club.
