After ten years at Liverpool Lucas Leiva got a fresh start at Lazio, where he won a trophy in his first official match when his new club defeated Juventus. The versatile Brazilian midfielder quickly impressed his new manager Simone Inzaghi who pointed out that Leiva was calling all of his new teammates by name after just a week. In a recent interview with Fox Sports, Lucas Leiva discussed his decision to come play in Italy: “I was looking for a new experience in a different country. I needed a new challenge and at Lazio I found everything that I was looking for in my career: the city is also marvelous, a new opportunity for me and my family” Now Lucas Leiva will remain focused on bringing Lazio back to the Champions League.
