Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva talked about his new experience in Italy with Lazio: "After ten years in Liverpool I was looking for a new challenge. The team, the league and the city had all an impact on my decision to come here. I still have many friends in Liverpool, included Gerrard. He was an amazing footballer and he taught me al lot as captain", say Lucas to the Corriere dello Sport. The Brazilian had also the opportunity to come in Italy, some years before joining Lazio: "Mancini wanted me when he was at Inter, but Liverpool and Inter couldn't meet an agreement. Now I am here and I settled in quickly. That's because I came in an organized team, where almost everyone already knew each other. The trainer, Inzaghi, is a perfectionist and he is always close to us players. He exploits the best qualities of each player in the team".
On Saturday Lucas will play his first derby of the Italian capital: "Our focus is only on winning. It's not like any game for the fans and for the city, but we need to play in the same way we would play any other game".
