Lazio, Lotito: "Keita has refused every offer, including the last one that was made on the Supercoppa day. I've rejected a €70m offer for Milinkovic"

Claudio Lotito, Lazio's president, has talked to Il Corriere della Sera. One of the topics he couldn't skip is Baldé Keita: "We respect the rules. When we purchase a player, we pay attention to everyone's needs: the economic wants of the player, the intermediary's work, the value on the transfer market. If a club wants Keita, they should satisfy the club too". About the offers: "There have been official offers made from Italy and abroad, the last one has been made on the Supercoppa day. The player has, until now, refused every single one of them. If there's a club he'd like to go to it's fine, but that one should offer at least the same amount as other clubs have".

There's the possibility he stays at Lazio while his contract ends next summer: "I don't work for the money as so many do but to respect the rules. I'm ready to fight until I die for some principles". Keita has said he could start a legal action: "If he thinks his rights aren't respected, he can do anything he wants".

About the club's policy on the transfer market: "It's not true we're selling players to put money in our banks. Biglia, for exemple, has asked to leave. But we need to plan and we already had Lucas Leiva as his substitute. It's like Caicedo: we took him in advance, so if someone were to leave we wouldn't have any problem. Another exemple is that I've refused a €70m offer for Milinkovic". Lazio will then remain competitive: "We're working in that order. We can't compete with top teams in Europe regarding wages but we respect our commitments and pay punctually the wages. The players know that".
