Alexandre Lacazette has expressed his will to leave the French club. If he hasn't said how close he could be to join Atlético Madrid, he suggested he was close to the Spanish club in a long interview to L'Equipe: "I think that this is the right time to leave. I'd like to get challenged and discover something new. I know I'm not high-ranked at an European level so I'm curious about responding to those who doubt me. I'll choose my next destination myself".
As Gianluca Di Marzio has already said, the most likely team he could join could be Atlético Madrid. The player has said that "Atlético is one of the semifinalists of this year's Champions League, a big team that will have a new stadium and makes players improve. And Griezmann plays there. We've got a good friendship and could continue it. I remember that he was timid and lonely when we were together in the U18 French national team. We've bonded and became friends by being teammates". There's a big chance they could be teammates again in the foreseeable future...
