After all the surprises, negotiations, and meetings, Kalinic has spoken about all the rumours surrounding him. The Croatian striker made his opinion public while speaking to his local paper Sportske Novotski:

“I want to play in Italy, in the club I’ve been fighting for in the past two years. I’m grateful to both the team and the coach, I want to continue my journey with them. There’s been a lot of pressure these past few days, I felt like I was being pushed to China. But the pressure came from the journalists, not from the club. They created a surreal atmosphere, almost as if they wanted to get rid of me. At no point did I say that I was happy to go to China. I obviously gave it some thought considering the offer that was given to me, but at no point did I want to go to China’.

Kalinic’s statements are clear as day, completely changing the scenario of his on going negotiations. Later on today there will be more clarity on the situation as Kalinic is yet to communicate his choice to Cannavaro.
