On April 22nd, Ricardo Kaka will turn 36. The Brazilian champion has given a long interview to UOL Esporte in which he has talked about his entire career, made of great successes and regrets. Or mistakes, as he calls it himself. How to choose Real Madrid after the great successes obtained with the Milan shirt. Kakà admitted it himself: "There, in Spain, I was completely lost. In Italy, I was considered the best in the world and everyone loved me, in Madrid everyone wanted me to leave". The Brazilian also recalled his very respectful but complicated relationship with Mourinho: "He used every reason to get me out, in my head I wanted to prove him that I was in a position to be among the best but the results on the pitch never arrived. He was close to me and helped me out, but I was the problem. When I left Madrid, he said that I was one of the most professional players he's ever worked with".
Kaka then talked about his memories under the Rossoneri's shirt, including the less happy ones like the night of the Champions League final in Istanbul in 2005, lost against Liverpool: "There I learned that I had no control over the victory. After that match there were several speculations about our celebrations during the halftime: nothing happened, given the experience of that team. In the end it was an incredible result: that Milan was one of the best formations in history, one of the best defenses that ever existed, and we conceded three goals in six minutes. Anyway, Istanbul was the worst defeat in my history, one of the most difficult to overcome. But it was one of the greatest lessons I've ever received in football".
Then, however, the revenge came in 2007, in Athens, with a clear 2-0 in favor of the Rossoneri who raised the trophy. With Kaka, the real key player of the team. And Golden Ball the same year. The last before the Messi-Ronaldo competition: "I hope they continue to win, also because everyone will keep remembering that I won the last one before them. But if it were to end, I would be very happy if a Brazilian like Neymar would win it". After the retirement he returned as a spectator at San Siro, his home: "I entered the pitch, the Milan fans shouted my name and I felt the heat of the stadium. I realized that I was in the place where I had to be: in the stands, watching and cheering". One like Ricardo Kaka will not be easily forgotten, both in Milan and in the world.
