The news had been in the air the past few days and it finally became official on Thursday- Juventus will face the MLS All Star team next August. The bianconeri will travel to Atlanta, Georgia to play a selection of MLS’ best players on Wednesday August 1st- the game will take place at Mercedes Benz Stadium the home of Atlanta FC as well as the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. The current Serie A champions are the most recent European giant to be involved in this match- previously Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal were featured- president Andrea Agnelli had this to say “It’s an opportunity to get to closer to the passionate American soccer fans. For many years, Juventus has considered the United States and Canada as a crucial market for growing our presence as shown by our opening of our new academics and our digital strategy that has greatly expanded the possibility to connect with fans on this continent. The first team and the game however, will be the main show that Juventus offers and we are proud to be in Atlanta”.

Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco will likely get to face some of his former teammates in a special setting, last season’s All Star Game at Soldier Field attracted over 60,000 and Atlanta FC’s home games often exceed 70,000 in attendance. The city of Atlanta will host numerous events around the All Star game including concerts and player appearances.
