After battling pneumonia, Maurizio Sarri is ready to make his official debut on Juventus’ bench. The former Chelsea manager hosted a press conference today to introduce tomorrow’s match against Fiorentina:”For a coach participating in the practices and going on the bench is life, everything. I want to thank the medical staff for their care past 20 days. My family are Fiorentina fans, my mother wasn’t thrilled when I signed with Juventus. I must accept the characteristics of this squad. I want the team to follow my ideas, but it can’t be a carbon copy”
Sarri discussed some individual players:”Emre Can’s outburst? When a player suffers a tough choice you must account for the emotional aspect. I’m very curious about Bentancur, he gives me high impressions in practice. I want to completely recuperate Rugani. Mandzukic probably showed me less in practice than Higuain. Rabiot didn’t play in 2019, after 15-20 great days he collapsed. Matuidi is an important player for us”
Sarri was asked about Matthijs De Ligt:”I’m convinced that in a few months he’ll do important things. He’s a future top player. Ronaldo is the one destined to make a difference, he’s the best in the world and he must be given freedom. Those at his side and behind him must help him”
