Juventus's a.d. Beppe Marotta spoke to Radio Anch'io lo Sport about the upcoming mercato before his club takes on Milan this weekend in the Supercoppa Italiana hosted in Doha.
"Caldara and Gagliardini? They are two very interesting names but there are other clubs that like them aside Juventus. We make evaluations and we're always looking to land the best youngsters around. With Italian players less time to adapt is required and they learn faster: this has been one of our strengths in the past few years. In the summer we had a mercato based around big signings which made us very satisfied: Higuain, Pjanic and Pjaca, all functional players: we're happy. Pjanic struggled fitting in at first but its normal when you change clubs. We're aware of his value. Witsel and Betancur? Its useless to hide it we're working on these two players. For Betancur we have an option that lasts until April 2017 and we will make use of it but he won't join in January, probably next year. As for Witsel there have been contacts with Zenit to see if we could accelerate his signing due to his expiring contract".
