Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini discussed the upcoming Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid in an interview with the Spanish newspaper Marca: "Atletico Madrid has a football philosophy that's more similar to the Italian one than the Spanish one. They are very defensive and they play the ball vertically, they managed to get outstanding results. They also have quality players, players that know how to play the ball, but they have a different playstyle than Barcelona. they have a player like Griezmann that can be the difference-maker, he makes his team unpredictable".
"Ronaldo? His arrival was important because he filled the gap left by Buffon in terms of personality. We reached two Champions League finals - continued the Italian centre-back - but we have to do a further step forward now. Winning Champions League is not an obsession. It's rather an objective, that we want to reach with serenity. We are not the only team that wants to win it, we know that, there are other 5-6 teams that can win it".
Finally, Chiellini was asked about his former teammate and future opponent Alvaro Morata: "He is a great friend and a great guy. We hoped that he could stay a long time with us but he had the opportunity to return home, to Real Madrid".
