After a massive 3-0 win over Barcelona, the vibes are nothing short of happy for the Juventus community. Among the protagonists was Gigi Buffon, who made an extraordinary save when the score was 1-0. The Italian keeper spoke to Sky Sport after the match:
“We’re satisfied about having done a good job, but that’s where it ends. Nobody has given us a trophy yet, we still have to earn the advancement to the semi finals. This is a Juve team constructed by an idea from our coach. Every now and then he has these masterpieces. I have no idea where he gets them from, but they seem to work well for him. He deserves a lot of praise, but so do we for applying the instructions he gives us”.
Buffon also spoke about the save he made on Iniesta: “It was very difficult because it’s a save showcasing instinct and timing. It’s like a duel, or a dance, in which you have to realise when you need to stick out a limb. You can’t do it too early, or you risk revealing your intentions. It was also important because of the specific moment in the match: We were only up 1-0. Either way, I’m lucky to play in such a strong team, with lots of quality players. If I want to keep having an important reputation, these are the saves I have to make, they need to be routine”.
