Approaching his 38th birthday and still on top of his game, Gianluigi Buffon may appear immortal. But, while attending a ceremony for the Gianni Brera , Buffon revealed for the first time his plans for retirement. "If I last until then, after the 2018 World Cup I will move on, I will bring down the curtain on my playing career," said Buffon. Juventus is willing to allow him the latitude to retire on his own terms, as well. Club official Giuseppi Marrotta remarked: "Buffon has carte blanche, he'll decide his own destiny. He can stay here until he decides otherwise."
