After being the target of criticism following the first leg at the Wanda Metropolitano, Massimiliano Allegri saw his team complete an improbable comeback against Atletico Madrid. After the match the Tuscan manager spoke to Sky Sport:”The players deserve a lot of credit because they interpreted the match well, with technical velocity and aggressiveness, giving us space on the pitch. I had asked for this also in the first leg but we played differently. It was a match of lucidity, calmness: we’ve been waiting for it for a while. This performance gives satisfaction to the fans, the management and the players”
Allegri singled out a few of his players:”I looked for the right players for the right solutions: Spinazzola, Bernardeschi were great. Emre Can was the only important variable, we then took advantage of our wingers well. We improved on the way we played, now we’ll see who we’ll get in the draw.
