Allegri did not receive an ideal result prior to the Champions League match against Monaco as Juventus drew Atalanta 2-2. Allegri stated the following to Sky Sport after the game: "Staying put and defending with our team behind the ball would have been sufficient to win the match. We played a good second half. On Wednesday we will play a team which is similar to Atalanta, who has a direct style of play."

After coming back from behind, we needed to finish off the game. Juventus rarely concedes as many goals as we did today. We suffered two times from two technical errors which we committed. It will be important to not commit these same mistakes against Monaco, a team filled with talent. There are five games until our Champions League match, and changing players who did not play on Sunday would have been excessive. The Scudetto is in our hands."
