After five consecutive Serie A victories, Juventus has one more match to play with Palermo before they can shift their focus over to Porto and the Champions League. Massimo Allegri tries to keep concentration at high levels, as a mistake against Palermo could put them in an unnecessarily uncomfortable situation. Here is what he had to say in his press conference:
“Tomorrows game is important to the continuation of our recent success. The Champions League must not distract us. In terms of who will play, Chiellini and Barzagli are recovering, Benatia is doing well, Rugani has improved, and Bonucci will play his 300th game for Juve. Either Benatia or Rugani will play tomorrow, in goals Buffon will take charge, while in the midfield I have to decide between Pjaca and Sturaro. The first of the two has a lot of quality, but if he wants to grow he needs the right mentality”.
A comment on the recent Champions League fixtures: “I didn’t think PSG could beat Barcelona by such a margin. Napoli? I need to compliment them: Playing in Madrid is not easy. As for us, we need to increase the quality in our game, it’s the only way to progress in Europe”.
On the players conditions: “Marchisio is doing well, he’ll be in great shape in about a month. Khedira? He knows the speed at which you have to play in a match. He sets the tempo and makes himself visible at the right times. He may play, we had 5 days of good training”.
