Gianluca Vialli make his suggestions for Italian football's rebirth from the ashes of the historic elimination from the World Cup. "Missing a World Cup entails many problems for our country" says Vialli, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But I want to be optimistic and hope that this bad moment could be a fresh start for our football".
Vialli's candidate for the job is Carlo Ancelotti: "We need someone who can take care of our national team and Ancelotti would be the right man for the job. He is well-respected and he has international experience, he has won trophies everywhere and can speak several languages. He could be the Italian Del Bosque. I'd also like to see Maldini as a club manager. We need also a new rule to have less foreign players and invest in youth academies. We need the new Maldini, Baggio and Totti: we need quality players".
