Roberto Mancini is ready to embark on his first official journey as manager of Italy. The azzurri will be playing Poland tomorrow in the UEFA Nations League, and the manager had this to say at his pre-match press conference: "I have already decided the formation, but it seems like it would be the right thing if the players found out first. When I tell them, tomorrow, I will also tell you. Emotional? When I had my debut I obviously was, tomorrow is the first official match, it's clear that it is a particular feeling."

He then went on to speak of individuals: "Criscito is doing well enough, he is recuperating from a problem from months ago; Balotelli? Those that have played less in the beginning of the season worry me."

"I don't believe the style is very important, the attitude that the team can have is. Nations League? I think it's better to play for three points than in friendly games. It could help us, we have many young players. There are three important points in the balance. I believe it is a beautiful thing for this group to try and win.We don't have time to lose, we must look to do the most possible, even if it won't be easy."
