Azzurri CT Roberto Mancini spoke with Sky Sport less than a week after the Nazionale won two Euro 2020 qualifying matches against Finland and Lichtenstein. He spoke on his current players, as well as a noticebly missing Mario Balotelli.
"With regards to Balotelli, it all depends on him. I made him play when he was 17, he has incredible qualities. He's still young eough but if he does well and works his hardest, he'll have his chances. Zaniolo appeared out of nowehere, nobody could have expected this. With respect to 6 months ago when I called him up for the first time, he's a different player. Kean? Allegri is doing the right thing, he needs to stay grounded and continue to train hard. When you're young you want to play every match but you need patience. Quagliarella is doing very well and is proof that if you always train well you can reach great results. Bernardeschi can play any midfield role, he's improving and will continue to do that. I think that he can score more goals than what he currently is."
Mancini then revealed the perfect mix that's helping the Nazionale improve: "Courage, talent and youth are three important things for the squad. We like that the enthusiasm throughout Italy has returned and we hope to grow some more. Now we're only thinking about Euro, we want to qualify and then see what happenes."
