"We always were playing at home with Simone". A look backwards with a lot of memories. Filippo Inzaghi has given an interview to Il Corriere dello Sport, where he expressed special thanks to Ancelotti: "Every coach I had gave me something but if I would have to choose one it would be him. We all know what kind of person he is". Who knows how his career would have gone if he would have said yes to Napoli in his Parma days: "I didn't refuse because of Boskov but because the night I had to make my mind we played the return leg of the Halmstad game at Parma. We lost 3-0 the first match. I scored after 40 seconds and we won 4-0; after that Parma decided to not sell me to Napoli, that's the truth".
His most beautiful goal? "It surely is the one in Athens: scoring in a Champions League final you win in a striker's dream. I think I didn't sleep for ten nights". Amazing memories but also some little regrets, like the one of only playing 20 minutes in the 2006 World Cup: "At the end lifting that cup has been the biggest joy I've ever had in my sportive life though, and a wonderful memory. Getting back to Italy where a million and a half people were waiting for us in Rome.. This one and Athens are incredible memories".
He's now a coach, with some habits that have changed respect to his footballer days: "When you've got a 30 people group to handle, you must be a good psychologist. There are players that are not playing and you've got a 7-8 people staff that are living every day with you. I was alone at first but now work as part of a team. If there's something I liked with my coaches was their honesty, their sincerity. I try to be as honest as I can with my players".
His dream is to bring Venezia to Serie A: "I hope so. It's a dream though and we don't have to think about it because we'll make a big mistake. In my contract there's only a bonus for avoiding relegation. If we could be a nuisance to the big Serie B teams that would be good. This year's a very tough league".
Impossible not looking at Milan. What isn't working? "It's hard to talk about it not being inside. I can say that, in my opinion, Milan have had an amazing transfer window and they need some time. It's sure in Italy we don't have a lot of time but I hope Montella will get that time, he's a great coach and he's got important players now".
He also talks about Ciro Immobile, here is the new Pippo of Serie A following his words: "It's hard to make comparisons because everyone is different. I must say I liked Simone's parallel between myself and Immobile. He's got his features but we've got the same determination".
