Inter, in the market for a right back and a central defender, continue to look to find the right pieces. The top choices at the moment are Valencia's right wing back João Cancelo and Manchester City fullback Eliaquim Mangala. The deal for Cancelo is close to completed, and before Friday he could join Inter, with the deal closing as soon as Thursday morning. Swapping sides in the Cancelo deal will be midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, and both players will first be loaned by their respective teams. Kondogbia's purchase option should be set at €25m, with Inter retaining a percentage of his future sales, while the option for Cancelo will be around €35m. The sums will be finalized, and for salaries, the entire €3.8m net of taxes of Kondogbia's contract will be paid by Valencia, while Cancelo earns around half of that, €1.8m per season net of taxes.
Mangala has given his okay to join the nerazzurri but Manchester City is yet to approve of his loan. The Premier League club is looking to receive an outright offer to buy Mangala instead, but Inter have been at work, along with the player, to get their agreement.
On the exit theme: Andrea Ranocchia is being followed by Burnley and Watford, as the Italian could be back In the Premier League after saying no to Genoa.
