Inter director of football Piero Ausilio's has returned to Italy after his trip to London to continue the negotiations for Olivier Giroud and Christian Eriksen with both players willing to join the Nerazzurri.

During his trip to London Ausilio met with Eriksen's agent, who reiterated the player's desire to join Inter in January. Now the Nerazzurri will have to try to lower Tottenham's demands. Inter have made a €10 million opening offer, while Spurs have set their asking price to €20 million. The Italian club would prefer not to exceed the €15 million treshold and intermediaries are working on reaching an agreement.

On the Giroud front, Chelsea are adamant that won't accept less than €5 million euros plus €1 million in bonuses to let the French striker leave. For their part, Inter won't offer more than 4 million euros plus 1 additional million in bonuses. In order to unlock the situation, Giroud sent out a significal signal of his desire to join Inter as he is open to lower his wage demands by €500.000 per year on the 2-year-and-a-half contract that Inter are offering him. The Nerazzurri will close the deal after completing the sale of Politano to Roma.
