Inter, Spalletti's pre-match interview ahead of facing Benevento

Inter's first test in 2019 will be an eighth-finals match in the Coppa Italia against Benevento. Ahead of the tie, coach of the nerazzurri Luciano Spalletti spoke to Inter TV: "Like we saw last year these matches can hide ugly surprises, but the team has worked hard and the experience of last season will be with us. We have a stronger mentality and we will look to bring it to this match to give us a boost. Our winter training changed somewhat: the players had personalized workouts to keep their form up and then we observed when they came back. We have a professional and serous atmosphere, and during the week we ramped up the intensity. With the doors closed it will seem even more like a training at Appiano. We will be forced to reflect; they wanted to send a strong signal."
