Three consecutive losses, with the last success in a league match happening on December 29th, Luciano Spalletti's Inter was defeated by Bologna, the third worst team in the standings. There's chatter about replacing Spalletti, who lost to new Bologna manager Mihajlovic. The nerazzurro manager spoke to the press after the match.
"It seems to me that the squad is following me, we do simple things. Then on the pitch you need moments that help, that maybe give you an advantage. It also helps to have the right balance in the pitch, without winning the match alone or forcing actions, which puts your team in difficulty."
"You can see we're missing something with how we fight, because others are stronger than we are. A signal from the club? I believe that this is a discussion for those who are borderline, when the club arrives to wonder if they have confidence in the manager or if they need to change. I don't think this discussion regards me."
"Ranocchia? He's a great player in the air, one of the best in the league. I was looking for new solutions, he went for two or three balls and that's what I wanted."
