Inter come to Monday's match with Chievo needing a result to maintain their position in the table after Atalanta, Milan, and Torino all secured wins over the weekend. Previewing the match, coach Luciano Spalletti spoke to the media: "It's becoming difficult to add to the pressure to whoever is in this situation. There are no results that allow you to be complacent, there is always a bigger goal to reach. It's normal that our rivals would win, just as it's normal that we must win the upocoming matches. Tomorrow will be a difficult match, we need to be able to play our match. And look to be better than our opponents: it will take all of the qualities that we have in our repertoire."
Spalletti also discussed the rumors of Antonio Conte being close to taking over the job at Inter: "I don't know what you are talking about," Spalletti said, jokingly. "In the papers they have been writing for months that I would be out next season, I am used to it. But this won't impact our attempts to achieve our best possible objectives. You can see that in training, in the way the players prepare, the only road for us is entry to the Champions League. In my mind and in the player's minds there is not Spalletti or any other coach, there's only Inter."
