Inter continue their pursuit of a Champions League spot from Genoa, as Luciano Spalletti's side prepares to face the Rossoblu in the Serie A mid-week round of matches. The coach discussed the game and the Mauro Icardi situation in press conference: "Icardi will be in the squad list for the match against Genoa. Marotta has done a crucial job, those of you trying to paint a different picture are wrong. We wanted to come to a stage where we actually sat down and spoke to one another. That conversation has now allowed us to have Icardi in a position where he can contribute again. There are no winners from this situation, however we have drawn a line under the issue and we know where we need to start again from. Icardi can inspire the team once he is a part of it again, but he has to be part of it. A single shirt hanging from a coat hanger is worth nothing, but inside the team it can be worth more than Messi and Ronaldo put together. The way to win the fans back is not by posting on social media, he trained well and worked hard this week. He will start against Genoa".
The coach then adressed the questions about the match against Genoa: "Every game is crucial now. Genoa is a good team, Prandelli is showing his qualities and those of his team. We will have to fight hard both physically and mentally".
