After losing two points in the dying minutes of the controversial game against Fiorentina, Inter get ready to face another away game versus Cagliari. The Nerazzurri coach Luciano Spalletti discussed the upcoming fixture, as well as the aftermath of the Fiorentina game: "There's still a bit of annoyance. We played our game but the players know that they need to look ahead. They've trained well and they're in the right frame of mind for the rest of the season, with still plenty to play for."
Spalletti was also asked about Perisic's resurgence and Icardi's situation in the pre-match press conference: "Even last year, Perisic went through a bit of a hazy period, but then he got back to his best form. You can't always be at 100%,
however, if you watch Ivan closely then he still plays an important role
when he doesn't seem at his best. He's worthy of Inter. Icardi? Marotta and Zhang have both spoken about this matter. From this moment on, I will only talk about the players that are available for selection. Lautaro? He's doing really well. He put in a top performance in Florence and he
has plenty of qualities to help the team. He's dealt extremely well with
the responsibility that he's been given. His teammates are relaxed with
him up front."
Finally, the coach talked about VAR: "It's a perfect instrument, yet at times, incidents are even hard to
analyse on a screen. It's only right that it's used five or six times
during a game if necessary. We need to keep using it; it's the future."
