After the nerazzurri's preseason match with Chelsea, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti was asked about the club's transfer market during the post-match interviews. Spalletti commented on the idea of yet more new arrivals joining: "I feel confidently that there is still work to be done, especially since the team that wins our league has two sets of squads. When you take part in cup competition, two or three days after you have to change out 6 players and on top of that, there are injuries. We still need a second goalkeeper, an Icardi substitute. We are working for those roles and we are close to completing our squad. Vrsaljko? The club has a plan and we must see if it plays out as a successful one. There are no problems, but with today's football, fast and dangerous, there are never any certainties. Deals have blown up when we thought that we had added the player.'
