Inter continue their search for reinforcements, not only for the midfield but also for the attack. One of the priorities of the Italian club for the January transfer window is to bring an additional striker and in this regard the Nerazzurri have stepped up their interest in Chelsea's forward Olivier Giroud.
The 33-year-old player's agents were at Inter headquarters today to meet with the Italian club's officials. The meeting was positive as Inter and Giroud, who will be out of his contract with the Blues in a few months, have reached an agreement on a two and a half-year contract, should Giroud join the nerazzurri in the coming weeks. However, the agreement is not binding for June, when the player will leave Chelsea for free.
Inter will now open talks with the English club, which are asking a sum between 8-10 million euros to let the player go, whereas Inter are willing to offer about half that sum, approximately €4-5 million. The player, who has received other offers, especially from Premier League clubs, has given his preference to Inter as he was persuaded by the Nerazzuri's project.
