He didn't spend much of his 2016 at Inter but Pioli is very hungry to have a good 2017 in order to forget about the difficulties of this year. Stefano Pioli spoke to Inter Channel about the club's future: "I was an Inter fan for many years, then as an opponent, now I'm living this period with a lot of intensity. When you come in halfway through the season there is no time for tranquility, because it means the results aren't coming in and therefore have to hurry your intervention, you have to be concrete and effective. That's what we're trying to do".
"I was in New York when the phone call from the club came, it was fantastic. There are situations in life that occur at the right time and I think this happened in the right period of my professional journey. I feel ready, I had the necessary experiences to come here at the best point in my career. There is a lot of satisfaction as well as responsibility because Inter is a great passion of mine. We are under the ideal conditions so that our players can perform very well".
"No doubt, the team can improve a lot and the January window can help us fix certain situations. We need to keep working hard and show everyone how competitive we are. These victories give us self-esteem and faith, we're expecting an important month in January. We will work in Marbella on being together and improving the team's mechanism. We're late and we have to sprint towards recovering positions in the table. We can only do so by believing and putting the maximum effort when we step on the pitch. Every match will be an occasion for us, we can beat whoever and with the right mentality we will see where we end up. I wish the fans the best 2017, full of tranquility and success".
