Ex-Inter president Massimo Moratti praised Spalletti and his team in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I had already thought of Spalletti as Inter coach after the Treble, in 2010. I told Branca to speak to him, but then he decided to go to Zenit. In some ways he is similar to Mourinho. He can get into players' head like Josè and the environment of mutual trust that he creates is very positive for the team. The difference between him and Conte is that Luciano has never won the Scudetto and he sees Inter as his chance to do it, while Conte has won both in England and in Italy. If he had failed to win here, it would have been Inter's fault, not his. Icardi? Now he plays for the team and he has still the energy to score goals. The €110 million buyout clause should be increased".
Moratti also talked about Suning and the main rivals: "Suning has a deep respect for the rules, but I'm sure that they will do everything they can on the transfer market to adjust the team. On Saturday we will face Juventus, I hope that will be a great match. Both teams are in their best period of form and Allegri is a great coach, but I have faith in Spalletti. About Milan, they have changed many players so it could have been understandable to see them in trouble, but I couldn't imagine this many. Their are 18 points behind us now, and I would lie if I said that I was sorry about it".
