Ten years after that night in Madrid, Inter is playing another European final. Yesterday it was the Champions League final against Bayern Munchen - a match that completed a dream season for president Massimo Moratti's club -, today is the Europa League, a competition that an Italian club haven't been winning for 21 years, when its name still was Uefa Cup.
"This waiting is reminding me the one before the match against Bayern: even at that time there was more concern for the semi-final. Winning in this way gives an incredible strength and a leap in mentality", says the former Inter president to 'La Repubblica'. Inter is trying to repeat the campaing of Malesani's Parma in 1999 thanks to their amazing forwards duo: "Lukaku didn't convince me at the beginning, but then he showed to be a clever footballer who plays for the team. And then Lautaro is doing amazing things, he has an incredible potential".
Europa League could change the future of Antonio Conte: "I think he's staying. As coach he's not up for discussion, how can somebody say the opposite? Is he unpleasant? He has his behaviour, but no coach is too nice. And I can say that the most important thing for a coach is the relationship with the president".
