Inter, Milito: "Icardi? He's like Crespo. The team can start dreaming again"

Inter has defeated Milan in the derby thanks to Mauro Icardi's hat trick. In the grounds of San Siro another great forward was there: Diego Milito, who gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport where he analyzes Spalletti's team current form.

The first question was about Mauro Icardi: "Inter have found a great striker who gets better game after game and who seems to still have possibilities to grow. I hope Icardi can write another pages of Inter and Argentina's histories. He sure has everything to do so. He's great in the area, he shows great intelligence about knowing when to strike. He's got a great sense of goal. Once he's there in the middle, the defender will never be able to understand or neutralize Mauro".

Inter's vice-president, Javier Zanetti, says that Icardi would be very similar to Hernan Crespo: "It's hard not to do such comparisons, every great striker has something unique though. I still agree with Zanetti, Icardi has a lot of qualities like Crespo, especially regarding his movements in the area. Like Hernan, Mauro strikes from nothing, he attacks the first ball with ferocity and he's also got great head skills. We're talking about specialists, players who make a goal from nothing".

In the meantime, Icardi has made three goals in the derby, like Milito has. The former Inter player will never forget these games: "One of the strongest emotions I've had as a player. The derby was the game that I liked most, I wanted to play them. These were special nights where you went beyond your limits. Icardi has been great, it's not easy doing that well in a derby".

About the Scudetto: "Juve still are favorite, but it won't be easy for them to confirm this year with Napoli who have reached a very high level: great team, great playing style, great coach". But Inter could have their word: "I already see a solid group, that still has to express a big part of their real potential. The team will grow a lot, it's trained really well and has great players. They need patience though, they're starting a new route and at the beginning you always have a bit of difficulties. That being said, there is ground to start dreaming again".

He closes the interview with a joke on national teams, with his Argentina that got qualified to the World Cup in extremis: "It would have been unbelievable to stay out of the competition with the best player in the world (Messi) and a whole series of exceptional talents in the team". It won't be easy for Italy neither: "Forza Azzurri! A World Cup without Italy and Argentina do not exist. I have Italian blood and love Italy: I'll support the Azzurri, we must go together to Russia!".
