Inter, Materazzi on Nainggolan: "We've already seen what he could give to this team at Bologna. He's always given his best on the pitch"

Marco Materazzi's love story with Inter will never end, and it's been more than a simple football experience. "Matrix" knows the Nerazzurro world well: "Spalletti's squad needs to be aware of their qualities. We don't have anything to envy from the other teams for the 12-13 first players of the squad".

The return in Champions League of the team he loves reminded him of the 2009-2010 season: "During the summer, we lost against Chelsea in a friendly, then in the group stages against Barcelona - has he told La Gazzetta dello Sport -. We, in the locker room, thought we weren't good enough. And instead...". This is the proof Inter can play against anyone: "Tottenham and Barcelona play at a very high level, but by beating the English side at the beginning you could already do some maths...".

Spalletti's key is Nainggolan: "I hope he remains fit. We've already seen what he could give to this team at Bologna. He's showing himself outside of the pitch? He's 30, not 20. He doesn't have to hide anything, he's always given his best on the pitch. Also, if Spalletti wanted him again...".

Regarding the defense unit, Materazzi sees himself in De Vrij: "He, like me, is better in a three-man defense, then he's also good at setting up the attacks. I played in a similar way. Skriniar? He showed his potential last year, he now has to act like a leader. He has to try risked passes more often".

The strongest Italian side remains Juventus though: "Inter, in order to catch up with them, need an important win and some top acquisitions. They are currently leaving on the bench Dybala, Douglas Costa and my favorite, Barzagli. They have a legendary squad that could make history. They know it: it's not a surprise they've acquired Cristiano Ronaldo. They want to win the Champions League".
