As Inter was preparing to face Sampdoria at the Marassi on Sunday afternoon, the nerazzurri CEO Giuseppe Marotta spoke to Sky Sport about his team.
Marotta discussed the club's moves during the transfer window: "My position gives me responsibilities at the top, but the work of Ausilio and Baccin was vital. The primary goal was to give the club financial security, considering the situation the club found itself in: we were successful, but now we want to be competitive. We built a squad from the opportunities that presented themselves. There are opportunities and circumstances that helped us put together a very competitive team, which was the club's objective."
Marotta also commented on the job being done by new coach, Simone Inzaghi:
"Every coach works with his team the way he believes in, with his personality, but always with respect to the club, which must be supportive of the coach's activities, which we are. Inzaghi is getting his first experience at Inter and he must have the right time to get used to it, to learn what Inter represents, which is a bit different, without taking anything away from them, form Lazio. But he has gained understanding quickly becuase he is very prepared and very intelligent."
