After working in a management role with the Italian national team, Gabriele Oriali is close to returning to Inter. As reported by Sky Sport, Oriali met with the nerazzurri's sporting director Piero Ausilio to discuss his potential role at the club. Inter intends to create a new hierarchy that will see the expansion of the sporting area, Ausilio will stay in his role while Oriali will work as a liaison between the club, manager and players- functions that resemble what he's been doing with the Azzurri. The Italian federation president Carlo Tavecchio has given the green light to Oriali, who appears ready to return to Inter. As a player Oriali played in over 270 matches at Inter and won the World Cup with Italy in 1982.
