After getting their first win of the season against Bologna, Inter want to get off on the right foot in the Champions League. Nerazzurri defender Stefan De Vrij, discussed about the debut of his team in the major European competition and many more in an interview with Corriere dello Sport: "I hope that playing in the Champions League will be a good experience. Just hearing the Champions League music in the play-offs game me the chills. I'll be marking Kane, one of the best strikers in the world, it will be tough. Our group is quite tough, but I don't think that the other clubs wanted to be drawn with Inter either. Going through to the knock-out stages would be amazing".
Speaking of great strikers, the Dutch defender voiced his opinion on Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival to Italy: "His arrival is a positive factor for Italian football, but the best striker I've ever played against is Mbappè".
Finally, De Vrij addressed the topic of the controversial last game of the 2017\2018 season, when he gave away a penalty that reignited Inter comeback against Lazio: "People at Lazio knew me, if they played me it means that they trusted me. Nobody said anything to me about that mistake, it happens. Icardi was on side and very close to the goal, so I tried to block the shot with a sliding tackle. If I had touched the ball, everyone would have said that it was a great defensive play".
