Following today's draw against Spezia, Antonio Conte was asked about the recent news regarding the proposed Super League, this is what Inter's manager told Sky Sport:"We're we distracted from what happened in the last 48 hours? We only had one day after Napoli, then we heard the news"
Conte went on:"My opinion is that we must not forget that some traditions need to be respected, sports needs meritocracy. We are working to try to win something, meritocracy must always be put at fore front, but everything that happened should make UEFA reflect too, they only leave a small portion of the rights to the teams that participate in the competitions, the clubs get drained"
Conte concluded this way:"The organizations at the head of football must reflect: they don't invest anything, while clubs do. The Champions and Europa League must be played by teams that conquer qualification, the sporting merit must prevail, if not football loses it's value"
